Lower Costs and Greater Comfort—When Your Home Does the Work

Heating accounts for the majority of household energy use, but with smart technology, you can both save money and enjoy a more consistent indoor climate. A recent customer survey shows that as many as 88% of users are satisfied—with consistent temperature and the system’s ability to run itself topping the list of benefits.

When energy prices fluctuate and the energy system is under greater strain, it becomes more difficult to both maintain a comfortable indoor temperature and keep costs under control. Today, heating and hot water account for about 75 percent of household energy use, which offers significant potential for savings. With smart climate control, energy can be used more efficiently—regardless of the heating solution.

“Many people think of electric cars, solar panels, and batteries when talking about energy-efficient technology. But the greatest potential lies in how we manage heating and hot water in our homes,” says Fredrik Lemming, CEO of Ngenic Energi.

With the Ngenic Tune solution, Ngenic Energi helps homeowners automate and optimize their heating, whether it’s geothermal, district heating, or other water-based heating systems. By measuring temperature, humidity, and sunlight - factors that are taken into account along with current weather forecasts - the self-learning system can control heating more precisely. Smartly controlled water-based heating uses less energy. This provides a more comfortable indoor climate and lower heating costs - completely automatically. By intelligently controlling the heat throughout the day, energy costs can be reduced while maintaining a consistent and comfortable indoor temperature.

“It’s like having a building manager and a meteorologist working for you around the clock. The house is heated when it’s most efficient, avoiding unnecessary energy spikes,” says Fredrik Lemming.

Comfort That Makes a Real Impression

In a recent customer survey, in which more than 1,100 users participated, 88 percent said they were satisfied or very satisfied with Ngenic Tune. The main reason for installing the service was the desire to lower energy costs, but the greatest perceived benefit turned out to be the consistent indoor temperature.

“Many people are pleasantly surprised by how much it improves their everyday comfort. Heating is something most people would rather not spend time on, so they appreciate that the system takes care of itself,” says Joacim Londer, communications manager at Ngenic Energi.

By reducing energy consumption and cutting peak demand, smart climate control also helps reduce the load on the energy system and lower carbon dioxide emissions. Every kilowatt-hour saved is therefore a win for both your wallet and the environment. In its own study, Ngenic Energi has demonstrated that single-family homes with district heating and Tune use, on average, 24 percent less energy for heating than comparable homes without smart control systems. These savings are achieved without compromising comfort.

“The technology is already in place. Now it’s a matter of using it more intelligently and letting the house do the work,” concludes Fredrik Lemming.
