At Ngenic, we are Sweden’s leading independent provider of aggregated energy services and customer flexibility. Gridtuner makes a difference—for both electricity grid operators and district heating network operators. Meet Ellen Lindblom—Data Scientist at Ngenic.
What does a Data Scientist at Ngenic do?
I develop forecasts for power consumption and flexibility. These are used for both flexibility markets and automated grid control. I work primarily with Ngenic’s Gridtuner service and, right now, also on the Autoflex project in the Sala-Heby Energi grid. The goal of Autoflex is to benefit both individual households and the collective of households by reducing the load on the power grid.
What’s the best part of your job?
The best part is that I get to work on such interesting things as algorithms for control and optimization. Another plus, of course, is that this helps reduce climate impact and supports the transition to a more sustainable, smart, and digitized energy system.
